The Voice Behind Mr. B - Cliff Watt
"I didn't find the light because it found me — I walked through every shadow until there was nowhere left to go but up."
Picture a man who has spent fifty-six years surrounded by children. He has heard their laughter. He has answered their questions. He has watched their eyes light up when they finally understand something big. That man is Cliff Watt.
Cliff and his wife began their journey as school teachers. They loved the classroom. But God had other plans. He called them into full-time children’s ministry. They served at First Baptist of Central Florida. They now serve at Eastside Baptist. Every step of the way, their passion for kids has only grown stronger.
But Cliff did not stay in one place. He took his love for children around the world. He taught for seven years at a Christian school in Nassau, Bahamas. He led mission trips to Trinidad, Jamaica, Guatemala, Peru, and Ukraine. He saw children from every background. He learned that they all have the same need. They need to know that God sees them. They need to know that God loves them. They need to know that God is enough.
Twenty-five years ago, something special happened. Cliff created a character named Mr. B. Through puppet skits, Mr. B taught thousands of children about God. He made them giggle. He helped them understand hard things. He pointed them toward Jesus. Week after week, children leaned forward in their seats whenever Mr. B appeared. They knew something important was coming.
